LAST BLOG!

This story is about a young boy, Dynasty Smith, who was just expelled form tech for bringing a stun gun to school. His mother was the one who gave it to him because he was being bullied. He was being bullied due to the fact that he was an obvious homosexual. The school wouldn't do anything about the bullying because they said that he brought it upon himself for being so flamboyant. He was expelled due to their zero tolerance policy on guns and weapons. The following article is from a popular columnist who responded to the incident.

This is freaking stupid. Ok, Tech High School, you have a zero tolerance policy for guns, yet you allow an innocent kid to be bullied and feel threatened at a school? Cool guys. I feel like the school should have and could have done so much more to help this poor kid. For almost an entire school year, plus some, he's had to deal with these guys, and I completely understood why he finally snapped and ended up using it on some kid who was hurting him. He shouldn't have been expelled. I'm so happy for him for not changing himself so that others and society accept him. However, at this point I feel like the majority of society would accept him. President Obama just said he is for gay marriage, but that's another story...

  1. I'm sorry, but a stun gun is not that bad. Oh you're down for five minutes, big whoop. It's not like you're going to use it to kill someone. I don't like thinking about weapons at school, but you can't honestly tell me that the kids at Tech don't carry and flash that kind of thing. I don't mean that in a bad way; it's just what it is. Schools these days sit on their pedestal to preach about the harm of bullying, but when it comes down to it, how many schools try to prevent it? Sometimes, a kid does have to protect him or herself. If someone is not sticking up for you when you're being bulled because you choose to love someone of your own gender, sometimes, you just have to take matters into your own hands and let people know that you're a human being with rights, too.

  2. I agree that schools don't really do enough to prevent and/or stop bullying from happening. However, I don't think that the mother should have given him a weapon, even a non-lethal one, to take to school to defend himself. What if being tazed didn't stop him from being bullied, would he try a gun or a knife next? Whether she intended to or not, she's supporting school shootings and such. I understand that she was trying to do what she thought was best for her son, but she should have taken it to the school's administrators before resorting to this.

  3. Wow this makes me angry! So what if he is homosexual. No one should be treated like this, especially when he didn't do anything to deserve these harmful acts. This makes the school look even more terrible that it already looks from all the stereotypes about it. The administration should have done something about the bullying. This is just sad, and I feel bad "Dynasty."

  4. Well, I really don't know how to start this off. I'm glad that he is standing up for himself and trying to stop the bullying, which the idiots should have never done in the first place and they too should be punished. Tech has probably had much, MUCH, more worse things brought into their school, and it's crazy how the kid got expelled. He should have been smarter and pulled it on them outside of school, but the idiots who picked on him deserve to get zapped. There is no need to make fun of him.

  5. I could not agree with Lydia or Matt more. This story honestly sickens me because clearly Dynasty was being abused and mistreated without any action from the school and when he took it upon himself to feel safe he was expelled for it. That is not acceptable in my opinion and I cant believe the way this all happened it is a shame that this had to go so far. The bullies should have been dealt with long ago.
